Saturday, September 21, 2013

Justin Timberlake has reassured Batman fans that he won't be playing the Caped Crusader's nemesis, the Riddler in the new Superman vs Batman film. JT appeared to suggest in a recent interview that he could be taking on the villainous role opposite his Runner, Runner co-star in the Man of Steel sequel. Speaking to Fresh 102.7 FM last month, he said there's no way he would want to play Batman's sidekick Robin, adding a baddie is much more up his street: "Not a chance in hell. I ain’t playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie. Now, a villain! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, The Riddler is my favourite villain." "The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m gonna play crazy, I wanna play proper crazy." Looks like Runner Runner co-stars Ben and Justin won't be teaming up for Batman (WENN) Following the comments a flurry of rumours started suggesting the multi-talented star could be cast in Zack Snyder's superhero team-up movie. Justin has downplayed all the hype though, telling Extra that he definitely isn't in talks to play the villain. "No, no, no," he insisted. "Fanboys rejoice! I have no aspirations of that." Timberlake went on to wish his buddy Affleck luck portraying the Dark Knight opposite Henry Cavill as Superman. "I was stoked to work with Ben [on Runner Runner], especially at this point in his career," Timberlake added. Runner, Runner hits UK cinemas on September 27.
